2008 PBRPRPSCLCS Season Recap

And so it begins. The 2009 Pabst Blue Ribbon Philadelphia Rock Paper Scissors City League Championship Series started up this week. But before we get to that, let's take a look at the 2008 standings, and how David Bowie's Package took home all the money at the Championship.

TEAM MEMBER: Tits McGee
Events: 5
Wins: 6
Losses: 4
Points: 19
Rank: 24

Tits McGee went through a few name changes and career changes in 2008. She's a tough cookie and we all expect great things from her in 2009.

TEAM MEMBER: Zombie Llama
Events: 17
Wins: 17
Losses: 15
Points: 56
Rank: 7

Zombie Llama played through many Specials in 2008 to make his way into the Top 10 for total points. He sold the raffle tickets at the Championship, had many Specials, then WON the raffle at the Championship. And already with one Special and 2 wins in his corner, 2009 is shaping up to be just as much of a blur as last year.

TEAM MEMBER: PJ Rhymeswithsausage
Events: 18
Wins: 25
Losses: 14
Points: 82
Rank: 2

I did awesome last year. And I can never hope to come anywhere close to repeating that performance. 2nd place overall in individual points. 2nd place overall in Street RPS totals. Winner of the Street RPS tournament at the Championship. Seriously. All down hill from here.

TEAM MEMBER: Baconshark
Events: 17
Wins: 19
Losses: 16
Points: 65
Rank: 4

What is there to say about 2007 PBRPRPSCLCS Champion Baconshark? He was a true role model in the 2008 season. He did not rest on his victory, oh No! He earned 4th place in overall points. He threw out the first pitch at a Camden Riversharks game. To clarify, he threw the pitch to a SHARK. So awesome.

TEAM MEMBER: Mr. Is - 2008 PBRPRPSCLCS CHAMPION
Events: 9
Wins: 4
Losses: 9
Points: 18
Rank: 27

Mr. Is was the most consistent player on the Package last year. She was out in the first round almost every time. And every time we told her "You only have to win one night." And dammit, she did. Our Champ is in sunny Colorado for learning and stuff. She will be around this season when her academic schedule allows. So beware, Philly. You never know when the Champ will strike!
